New wines from an old vineyard 100% Rutherford Dust
“I love what we are doing here, in making a wine that finds the balance between what I did at Beaulieu Vineyards 30 years ago and now. Great wine regions are defined by wines that age… and we want that longevity”, says winemaker Joel Aiken - Wine Spectator, July 2024.
Morisoli Vineyard features one hundred percent estate grown fruit, focused on expressing the land and vintage charateristics while remaining true to the grape. Our winemaker creates classically styled and restrained wines with a modern refinement. The resulting wines are exceptionally age-worthy with a strong sense of place.

Morisoli Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford, Napa Valley
Only two percent of our total grape production is selected for our own estate grown bottling. This fruit is from our oldest section of Cabernet Sauvignon vines, perched in the middle of the “Rutherford Bench”, an alluvial fan eroded over thousands of years from the Mayacamas range. These well drained, gravely and loamy soils produce complex flavors and supple tannins. On average, 65% new French Oak barrels are used for aging the wine and to best show the terroir and varietal.

Morisoli Vineyard Zinfandel Rutherford, Napa Valley
Plinio’s block was planted in the 1910s by the second generation, Plinio Morisoli. The vines are planted at seven-by-seven foot intervals, head trained, cross cultivated, hand sulfured and dry farmed. During prohibition, Plinio’s Block stayed in production by selling its fruit to Christian Brothers Winery for use in sacramental wine. Today it is one of nine remaining pre-prohibition vineyards in Napa Valley. This field blend of predominantly Zinfandel is enhanced by; Alicante Bouschet, Carignan, Durif, Grand noir de la Calmette, Muscat Hamburg, Négrette, Syrah and Valdiguié all on St. George rootstock.
